Integrity Matters

Beacon Health System is committed to the value of integrity. One part of that commitment is providing ways for associates to ask compliance questions and report compliance concerns. If you suspect that someone is billing for services or supplies not actually supplied, falsifying records, paying physicians for referrals or otherwise breaking a law (including Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement), there is a way for you to address your concerns—call the CALL line: 1-800-808-3198 To ensure confidentiality, the people who answer the telephone are not Beacon associates. People from the independent company will answer calls from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with voice mail available after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. Remember, no one may retaliate against you for, in good faith, reporting a possible violation of law or other wrongful act or for asking a compliance question. For more information, contact Warren Mattson, Beacon Compliance Officer, at 574.647.3309 or wmattson@...

Tracking Time! As part of the ongoing Summit Project, Memorial Hospital recently entered a partnership with the leading expert in patient flow automation, TeleTracking Technologies. The new technology will allow medical leaders to control patient flow in real time. It creates an environment where the arrival of a patient coincides with the availability of a bed, the appropriate medical record and the correct medical devices, thereby removing inefficiencies and improving overall care. Memorial will begin using TeleTracking the week of July 7. The Summit Project is designed to improve and streamline patient-care processes, enhancing the overall system for progressing patients from admission to discharge. We appreciate everyone’s support and cooperation during this time as we transition to...
